Why are resources constantly siphoned out to others and away from the community whose wage, property, and sales taxes pay for public art and new sports stadiums? Why are Black Women’s style, ideas, work, inventions, constantly stolen for others to profit from? How can we as a community repent and repair the collective violence from economic and social systems that continue to use and abuse Black Womxn and Black Girls.

COVID-19 has also exposed the inner workings of these systems for the whole world to see. Among those struggling are Black Womxn artists entrepreneurs and cultural workers who contribute to the economic development, cultural, and international reputation of this great city.

In response we are reaching out to those of you who understand how important it is to take matters into our hands- and create a system of mutual aid for art and cultural workers.
